And while lemons are acidic they create alkalinity in the body. Is the hepatitis B vaccine safe?

The hepatitis B vaccine is given to U.S. infants at birth. But there is impressive evidence that for a preventive measure, hepatitis B vaccine is remarkable for the frequency, variety, and severity of complications from its use.

Hepatitis B vaccine has been shown in many peer-reviewed research papers to be associated with numerous infant deaths in the U.S. and Europe, multiple sclerosis and numerous chronic autoimmune disorders.

According to Child Health Safety, the U.S. government admitted as much when a Court found in favor of a plaintiff (deceased by the time the decision was made) who had developed systemic lupus erythematosus:

"Tambra Harris ... filed a petition for compensation alleging that she suffered certain injuries as a result of receiving a vaccination. Among the injuries petitioner alleged that she had suffered as a result of receiving a hepatitis B vaccination was systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) ... A lump sum of $475,000.00 in the form of a check payable to petitioner as Administratrix of the Estate of Tambra Harris."

Since parents' concerns about childhood vaccine safety have greatly increased during the past five years, a new report also suggests that pediatricians and family physicians should figure out ways to spend LESS time talking with them about it.

According to American Medical News:

"Because of the amount of time needed to address immunization safety for these parents, there is a larger burden on pediatricians and family physicians to address these concerns during well-child appointments."

Three hepatitis B shots are part of the standard government-recommended childhood vaccination schedule, with the first dose given at 12 hours of age in the newborn nursery of most hospitals.

Despite what you may hear in the media, reactions can be serious. In fact, hepatitis B appears to be one of the most problematic vaccines on the current schedule.

As Dr. Jane Orient of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) testified to Congress:

"For most children, the risk of a serious vaccine reaction may be 100 times greater than the risk of hepatitis B."

Now the U.S. government has also conceded that the vaccine carries risks, specifically they have conceded that it may cause systemic lupus erythematosus.

Nearly Half a Million Dollars Awarded to Hepatitis B Vaccine Victim

On August 29, 2001, Tambra Harris filed a petition for compensation alleging that she suffered certain injuries, including lupus (SLE), as a result of receiving a hepatitis B vaccination. Harris sought an award under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and on March 22, 2011 -- nearly 10 years later! -- counsel for both parties filed a stipulation stating that a decision should be entered awarding compensation.

A lump sum of $475,000 was awarded to the Estate of Tambra Harris as "compensation for all damages." Unfortunately, Tambra died in November 2009, so she never got to see the result of her petition.

This is only one case of many reported serious reactions to the hepatitis B vaccine.

Routine use of the hepatitis B vaccine for all newborns began in 1992, and according to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), operated jointly by the CDC and FDA, there were 36,788 officially reported adverse reactions to hepatitis B vaccines between 1992 and 2005. Of these, 14,800 were serious enough to cause hospitalization, life-threatening health events or permanent disabilities.

And 781 people were reported to have DIED following hepatitis B vaccination -- and this is likely an underestimate because only a fraction of the serious health problems, including deaths, following vaccination are ever acknowledged due to a lack of public awareness about how to recognize signs and symptoms of vaccine reactions.

Vaccine adverse events are substantially underreported—some estimate by as much as 90 percent—even though the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 mandated that all doctors and other vaccine providers report serious health problems, including hospitalizations, injuries and deaths following vaccination.

The 1986 Act did not include sanctions for failing to report potential vaccine reactions to VAERS and so most vaccine providers do not file a report when the health of a person recently vaccinated begins to deteriorate.

Many vaccine reactions are not even recognized by medical personnel as vaccine-related.

For instance, when babies die after hep B vaccinations, most of the time their deaths are automatically attributed to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) without investigation into whether the vaccine caused the baby's sudden death.

How fast do finger nails grow?

Adult finger nails grow (on average) about 0.02 inches a week. That works out to 0.9 inches per year. That's about the same pace that continents move, by the way.

If you're thinking that your nails definitely grow more than that -- you're probably right. Young people have faster-growing fingernails than oldies. Fingernails also grow more during the day, in summer, and among people who live in warmest and sunniest climates. Men have faster growing fingernails than women. Children have the fastest growing fingernails of all. In fact, a child under about 12 can lose the very tip of their finger, and the finger tip will grow back (nail and all).

The fingernails on the longest fingers (the middle fingers) grow fastest of all. Also, the more the hand is used the faster the nail grow (because of a better blood supply). Good health promotes faster fingernail growth.

Toenails grow between a quarter and half as much as fingernails.

Medical Research Shows Synthetic Vitamins Can: Increase Cancer Risks and Seriously Damage Your Health

Research done by Dr. Agnes Faye Morgan (University of California) reported that taking synthetic vitamins is worse than starvation.

Animals fed synthetic vitamins had toxic reactions or died quickly of degenerative diseases compared to those fed whole foods. She reported in Science that animals on a synthetic vitamin enriched diet died long before the animals on an unprocessed diet. She stated that the enrichment of processed foods with synthetic vitamins may "precipitate conditions worse than the original deficiency."

Other animal studies reveal untimely deaths, sterility, and serious health deficits with the use of synthetic nutritional supplements versus once-living source whole foods in animal feeds (Scandinavian Veterinary; Journal of Natural Agriculture).

Many Studies Show No Health Benefits From Synthetic Vitamins

o A Harvard study of 22,000 physicians reported no health benefits from synthetic vitamins.

o A 1994 study in the New England Journal of Medicine on elderly Americans, designed to improve muscle weakness and physical frailty, demonstrated no benefits whatsover.

o In a study, published in the 1945 American Journal of Digestive Diseases, Vitamin E-deficient laboratory animals that were fed synthetic tocopherols died before the control group that did not receive any nutritional supplements at all.

o Researchers at Dartmouth Medical School ran a four-year study to see if antioxidant nutritional supplements could prevent the recurrence of adenomas of the colon after surgical removal in 864 patients. After four years of giving 25 mg of beta-carotene, 1000 mg of ascorbic acid, and 400 mg of alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), all in synthetic forms, there were no positive effects noted and the researchers concluded that: "Current data do not support the use of antioxidant (synthetic) vitamin supplements for purposes of cancer prevention." (July 22, 1994 New England Journal of Medicine).

Medical Research Shows Synthetic Vitamins and Nutritional Supplements Can Increase Cancer Risk

In a Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center study, 18,000 American men and women at risk of lung cancer took either a placebo or supplements of synthetic vitamin A. The researchers, led by Dr. Gilbert Omen, stopped the study in January, 1996, because the group on nutritional supplements had a 28% higher incidence of lung cancer. Regarding these troublesome findings, Dr. Susan Taylor Mayne of Yale University told New Scientist "I'm concerned about all of these nutrients that people go out and take in massive doses. These nutrients have adverse effects."

She was, of course, talking about synthetic vitamins.

Other studies show that synthetic beta carotene can block antioxidant activity and the anti-cancer activity of antioxidants (carotenoids) in the diet.

A study of 29,000 Finnish smokers proved that synthetic vitamins increased death rates significantly enough to stop a 10-year study prematurely. To the researchers' horror the risk of cancer increased by 16% and there were more heart attacks, more strokes, and an 8% higher increase in the overall death rate of those smokers taking the synthetic nutritional supplements.

New England Journal of Medicine Reported Major Health Problems With Synthetic Vitamin A

A New England Journal of Medicine (Nov, 1995) study at Boston University School of Medicine found that synthetic vitamin A given to pregnant women, in medium to high doses, increased the risk of birth defects by 240% at the lower dosage and 400% at the higher dosage. Serious genetic damage that caused cleft lip, cleft palette, heart malformations, and nervous system damage were linked to synthetic vitamins. This comprehensive study of 22,748 women over a period of four years reported that there was no birth defect risk noted from foods containing Vitamin A.
